Do You Need a Brake Inspection?

Without good brakes, you will not be able to slow down and stop quickly when needed. Worn Brake Pads
When your press down on your brake pedals, the brake pads will squeeze together onto the rotor, creating friction and bringing the vehicle to a halt. Over a period of time, however, the brake pads will wear down because of being used so frequently. When your brake pads wear down, it can be dangerous due to the fact that the pads are not nearly effective at bringing your vehicle to a stop.
When your brake pads wear to a certain point, there is a built-in indicator that will alert you that you need to change your brake pads as soon as possible. This indicator releases a high-pitched squeaking noise. In addition, you will likely start to notice a grinding noise. The longer that you put off having your brake pads replaced when these noises begin, the more expensive it will be. This is because the brake will end up damaging the rotor once the brake pad wears thin enough or wears done completely. It is much cheaper to simply replace the brake pads as opposed to replacing the pads and the rotors.
Pulling
When you step on the brake pedal, do you notice that your vehicle is pulling to one side or the other? If so, this may be indicative of an issue with your braking system. If your brake pads have been wearing unevenly, then the pads will apply varying levels of pressure when you apply your foot to the brake.
Vibrations
If your vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock brake system (ABS, for short), then it is completely normal for you to feel a small vibration or pulsing when you make a sudden stop. However, if you feel vibrations when you bring your vehicle to a stop under normal circumstances, then there is likely an issue somewhere. The problem may be a distorted rotor.
